Hi! I’m Emily,
An LGBT and mental health advocate and blogger
You can call me Ems!
I am 23 years old. I realized I am bisexual at age 13, and I realized I am demisexual just last year. I have known that I have depression since I was 13, but I did not know what the signs of anxiety and panic attacks were until I started college in the fall of 2015. After 5 years and 1 school transfer, I am now 1 year away from graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Media Studies! It has been a long, hard road with many bumps and a lot of personal growth. Through everything, I know how hard it is to be a part of the LGBT+ community and coping with mental illnesses.
While I cannot be a therapist for anyone, I would like to share my experiences and research to help others, and hopefully learn some new things in the process. I will be using this blog to discuss issues surrounding LGBT mental health, self care tips and strategies, resources, and more. I think this is especially important to me right now, as times are hard and uncertain.
I hope that this blog can help even one person through their hardship. If anyone needs anything, even just to talk, please feel free to reach out to me.
Happy Pride, everyone!
